Julie Glasson Moore

Ever since I was a little girl growing up in south Texas, I have been fascinated with flowers and plants. I have experimented with growing plants and drawing them for as long as I can remember. I have focused on creating flowers, particularly roses. Over the last few years I have developed a mixed oil media technique, working on both on paper and canvas. I enjoy using this technique because of the rich color layering effects I can get from it. First I create an “under-drawing” with oil pastel, then I use layers of either oil paint or oil sticks to create the finished flower.
