Lucy Arnold

My artwork combines drawing, design, color and nature, with just a touch of whimsy. It’s the small, intimate details of nature that draw my eye. Nature provides such remarkable, even unbelievable creations that I prefer depicting actual species of plants and animals in my non-abstract pieces.

My art career began during high school when I painted needlepoint canvases for Elaine Magnin in San Francisco. After earning a degree in biology at UCSC, I began my own needlepoint design business and sold to stores nationwide for over 12 years. Later, I switched to fine art and reveled in experimenting with many different styles and media. I now work in watercolor, pastels, mixed media, beaded jewelry, and illustration.
