Gae
Canfield
Gae explores
in various mediums: using oil, oil pastel, acrylic or printing with
lithographic ink on her etching press. Her art is responsive to the
nature of each of these processes.
While living
in Berkeley, she began printmaking at Kala Institute. In Marin, the landscape
has been important, though her affinity for abstraction remains a compelling
direction of her work. In both cases, an understanding of color stands
beside her enjoyment of working spontaneously and freely. Gae has shown
in a number of juried venues in Marin and has participated in Marin Open
Studios over a period of years.
