Joan Hauck Joan Hauck
works in the abstract on paper, in acrylic, mixed media and/or collage.
She overlays thin glazes, combined with relief printing and scraping to
achieve opulent texture and color. Her interest in texture has also led
her into painting in encaustic (wax mixed with pigment), usually heavily
textured with a rich luminosity When the wax hardens and is polished,
its luster and translucence are beautiful, the underlying colors often
resonating through the top layers. Joan welcomes visitors by appointment
to her studio at the Novato Art Center, 781 Hamilton Parkway, Studio B,
Novato. Click
