Joel Hurwitz
Joel Hurwitz says that he usually starts paintings without knowing what he
intends to paint, and, as the painting progresses, tells a story using
color and form…using heavy brush strokes with so much paint it extends out from
the canvas in twists and curves. His paintings are poems with hidden
meanings and symbolism adapted from the many cultures he has visited in his
travels around the world. Joel is also a photographer and sculptor. He is currently sculpting in clay
and bronze. His paintings have been exhibited throughout the Bay Area.
