Karen Soroca

As a once professional dancer/choreographer, I have always loved interesting forms, shapes and textures. Now that I am not dancing professionally any more, I have shifted my creativity to working with clay. I often start on a potter’s wheel and then carve by hand. Many pieces are then wood fired. One of the interesting things about a wood firing is that you never know exactly how anything will turn out. It’s an amazing process to let go of controlling everything and trusting the creative process every step of the way.
