Christie Stewart

Christie Stewart graduated with departmental honors and a degree in Fine Arts from Dominican College of California. Her emphasis is in drawing with chalk pastels in a 38x50-inch format on paper. The main focus of her artwork has been to build a body of work that can be viewed in its progression. Her first series, titled "Wooden Petals," are abstractions taken from the shadows, shapes and lines of the pine cone. Christie is presently developing her second series, titled "The River Gypsies." Still continuing the study of the pine cone, she focuses on line and color to illustrate the dance and drama suggested by the title.
